Shetland has very few trees scattered over its many islands. So, for over a thousand years, Shetlanders have used the tushkar to dig peats from the barren hillsides to burn as fuel. The aroma of peat fires is almost as evocative of our homeland as the flavour of this rich, dark oatmeal stout.
