Tasting notes Hanging Pearmain are really beautiful apples. With a distinctive waisted shape and smooth matte skin it was hard work to put them through the press, such was Lydia's desire to get her paints out commit them all to canvas. This variety was first presented to the London Horticultural Society in 1826 but under the name 'Norfolk Pippin' by Sir Robert Adams of Norfolk. However it is thought to have already been in use in Herefordshire under the name we've chosen to call it by, Hanging P
