Lagavulin Distillery is one of the great Islay distilleries, founded in 1816 on the shores of Lagavulin Bay on the south coast of the island and owned by Diageo. Producing a famously intense, heavily peated single malt with a rich, complex sweetness beneath its abundant smoke — described by Michael Jackson as one of the world's great single malts — the 16-year-old Lagavulin is iconic, while limited Distillers Edition and Special Releases attract devoted collectors worldwide.
