Lindores Abbey Distillery is a historic craft distillery founded in 2017 at the site of Lindores Abbey in Newburgh, Fife, where the earliest written record of Scotch whisky distillation dates to 1494 — making it the birthplace of recorded whisky production in Scotland. Producing MCDXCIV single malt whisky — named after that pivotal year — alongside a range of gins and spirits, the distillery combines deep historical significance with exceptional modern craft, with a visitor centre in the beautifully restored abbey ruin.
