The Rifles Rosé 2018

Rosé Wine

SPECIAL EDITION LIVERY In 1800 Colonel Coote Manningham raised the Experimental Corps of Riflemen in Horsham, at Depot Road. They were encamped less than half a mile from the tract of land where our stunning vineyards are now planted. Indeed, there is evidence that some of the Riflemen’s earliest field exercises were conducted here. Several buttons and numerous clay pipes, emblazoned with the crown and bugle, have been found in the vineyard and they now reside in the Regimental Museum in Winchester. Coolhurst Vineyards have collaborated with the Always a Rifleman Programme (AARP) to raise funds for the charity who deliver support in the first few hours of an emerging crisis and help pave the way to wellness and mental health support. It is proven to save lives. During the most challenging real-life problems, it provides face-to-face coaching, mentoring and mental health support. For veterans and their dependants of The Rifles or antecedent regiments, this is a dedicated service available 24/7. https://theriflesnetwork.co.uk/page/aarp One of The Rifles antecedent Regiments – The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry – became the first allied troops to invade Europe. In the 6th June 1944 at 00:16hrs, men from D Company 2nd Ox&Bucks landed at Pegasus Bridge in Normandy. As ever we have produced a single vintage, single vineyard single varietal wine and here is our famous Lady Elizabeth 2018 100% Pinot Noir Rosé with an exclusive label. With 72 months on it’s lees and then over one year on cork time this is a high-premium product, which won a Gold Medal and scored 95 points in the 2026 Decanter Awards. Our distinctive pale salmon colour sits alongside deliciously defined fruit. It’s the full gamut of citrus to peach with red fruit scintillation. This is delicious right now and displays our trademark soft mousse and gentle acidity. We are donating a percentage of the profits from this special edition to the AARP charity.
