Chateau Margaux Red Wine Barrel

Sour / Wild Ale

These special barrels have are sourced from one of the most prestigious and oldest Bordeaux wine estates in the world, Chateau Margaux. The estate dates back to the 16th century and was once visited by Thomas Jefferson in 1787 who quickly fell in love with the wine and its popularity only grew from then. This estate produces Premier Cru Bordeaux wine using predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. The barrels are made from the finest oak trees, grown and harvested on the estate’s own land, and crafted by their skilled coopers. The wines are elegant with notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, and plum, accompanied by hints of violet, cedar, tobacco, and earthy notes from the oak aging. By maturing our spirit in these barrels, we expect to create a truly special whisky with a deep, rich and complex flavour. The tropical soft fruit notes of our new make spirit will be greatly influenced by the elegant wine that was once stored in these barrels, providing a layer of deep, ripe, dark red fruit undertones. This is a chance to own a piece of true luxury that you won’t find anywhere else.
