About
T&R Theakston is an independent Yorkshire family brewery in Masham, founded in 1827 and famous for the legendary Old Peculier strong dark ale — one of Britain's most distinctive real ales. After a turbulent period of ownership the brewery was returned to the Theakston family in 2003, who continue to brew Old Peculier, Best Bitter, XB and seasonal ales in the picturesque Dales market town that also houses the related Black Sheep Brewery.
